Five teenage girls have been taken to hospital after the car they were travelling in ended up colliding with a house in Birmingham.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Ormond Road in New Frankley at around 8.45am this morning (Tuesday).
Three ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and an incident support officer were sent to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said:
“Crews arrived at the scene to find a car which had collided with the side of a house, demolishing part of a wall. A second car was found nearby which had also sustained damage in the collision.
Five girls, believed to be in their late teens and early 20s, were out of the car which had collided with the house. One girl suffered neck pain in the crash and was immobilised with a neck collar and spinal board as a precaution. The four other girls suffered minor injuries. All five were transferred to Selly Oak Hospital.
A woman and her 12 year old girl were in the second car at the time of the collision. The girl suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by crews before being taken to Katie Road Walk-in Centre in Selly Oak as a precaution.
Considering the damage to the house, this had the potential to be an extremely serious incident and it is fortunate that no-one was seriously hurt.”
